No class for Tuesday Competition classes-

We will have class for the Thursday classes so they can have the following week off for Spring break.

The boys will not have class this week or next and will resume the 2nd week in April:)

All of my teams are back to back so stay and cheer for the other classes. I will give you your medals after the last team has danced:)

We are judged on a point system at this competition-Each routine is based off 30 points

to get 1st place you need to score 29.1 or higher

2nd place is 27-28.69

3rd is 27-28.69

Below 3rd you get a Excellent rating and participation award.

First off let me just tell you how proud I am of each one of you! I have the best dancers in the WORLD!!

All of my dancers are scheduled to dance pretty close together so make sure and yell and scream for our fellow teams! It makes it so fun when you have peeps cheering for you! I will hand out all team medals and trophies @3:30pm in Exhibit Hall A in the backJ If you are a solo or duet- pick up your trophy right after you dance.

I want this to be a positive experience for all dancers, it is so fun to get up on stage and dance your heart out. Dance as we know is a very SUBJECTIVE sport. You are all champions in my eyes no matter what place you take. I never cease to be amazed at how some dances are scored, ones that I think will take first sometimes don’t. Ones I think will not take first sometimes do. You never know!! All I care about is that you have the time of your life performing! They usually post scores about an hour to 2 hours after we dance. I will post all results Friday night on my blogJ

We ordered good weather and WE GOT IT! So I hope this is a time you can spend enjoying the sunshine and having a fun filled week end! All of your hard work has paid off, so SMILE & ENJOY!!

I really enjoy this competition because there is no entrance fee for spectators! YAY!! There is no other competition that offers this, and I really appreciate families being able to watch there children without having to pay $5 a head . Hallelujah! So invite anyone you want to watch, it is FREE !!!

Make-up and Hair for Competition

You do not need to wear make-up for dress rehearsal, just your hair!

Make up for all classes is pretty simple. I love the hard candy eye glitter and glitter cream eye shadow. I usually just stick with gold and silver so it matches the costume. You can find this at Walmart. Lips need to be dark. I usually use a brownish tone, red just seems too overpowering. Lips need to be DARK! I usually just use a bronzer for blush. A little black eyeliner and mascara;) Super fun!

For the DYNAMITE CLass- 2 low pigtails with hat bobby pinned in
TWIST MY HIPS_- See video posted. The part is on the left, side pony sits on the right shoulder- Flower clips in rubber band- No headband
WATCH ME- low side pony. part on the left, side pony on the right- Bobby pin in hat.

Info on recital

Can you believe we are getting to the end of the year??? Crazy how fast time flies. As most of you have noticed I moved the concert ahead a couple of weeks. My baby boy who I just dropped off at the kindergarten bus stop YESTERDAY is graduating from High School this year as well as Oakley and Kelli…. so I wanted to keep May free to prepare myself. I may never be prepared for this. .haha. Another case of TIME FLIES!

Our concert is scheduled at the Riverton Community Center on Tuesday April 24 @6:30pm

Full tuition is due for all classes along with a $10. Recital fee per student. The recital fee covers the building rental, programs, and a prize for the dancers.

March 2012 News

First off, I just wanted to thank you all for your love and support last week after losing my sweet Grandma. Especially thank you to Lexi, Oakley, and Kelli for taking over the dance classes last week. They are amazing girls! I really appreciate all they do!

****Ok next…competition is almost here!

I just got an email of the updated schedule. Like I said, I never know these things in advance, they can change on a dime. All of my dancers will be dancing on Friday March 23, last year they started at 3pm, but this year because of the large amount of entries they are now starting at 12pm- Noon. Ahhh. So those of you leaving on Friday will have to leave early, thanks for being good sports. I wish I had control over times, but I don’t. I will not know a detailed time schedule until the week before when the competition lets me know.

Also, we will not be having class on Thursday March 22 to accommodate those who want to leave on Thursday to St. George, so the Thursday classes will be having a make up class on Wednesday March 21. Same times as regular classes, just on Wednesday.

I will be updating my blog a lot before competition so keep checking it for updates.

I hope you have all paid online for competition, I hope you still can. They will not let any of my dancers perform unless everyone has paid. It is pretty easy to register, if you forgot go to my blog and it walks you through. DO IT FAST because they will not accept payment past a certain time.

On March 20, and 21 I would like the dancers to wear costumes to class. Check the blog for updates on hair and makeup as well.
